All in all ViaVol is a nice social shopping service which could save potential buyers hours of online surveying and comparisons, but it already has many competitors: ThisNext, Crowdstorm, and ShopWiki.

Selldeo Offers You To Broadcast Your Commercial For Free

March 10, 2007

Selldeo Logo
Selldeo, offers you to broadcast video listings of your items on the site absolutely free of cost. There is no insertion or final value fees and charges either.

The feature set includes the option to post as many ads as you want, for as long as you want, Unlimited text description, ability to chat with potential buyers via Selldeo IM and email links to friends and family. Selldeo intends to make money via featured listings.

This is really a nice service at face value, however there are no listings on the site at the moment and the service is undergoing the classical “egg and hen” problem. Users will come when there will be classified listings and classified listings will come with the users. It remains to be seen how Selldeo will tackle this problem, which is not likely to be an easy one.

Edgeio is another listing service that automatically gathers classified ads from blogs and other such sites. Clearly the Edgeio model has a better chance of succeeding than Selldeo. Lets see when eBay starts offering video ads. A potential eBay-Youtube partnership to link together the online video and auctions world would definitely be a revolutionary service.
